We are seeking an Assistant Farm Manager to join our team at Apple Hill Farm.
The ideal candidate will be comfortable working with both animals and the general public, possess strong leadership skills, and have experience in livestock management.
In 2023, we lead over 1,200 tours and welcomed over 11,000 visitors.
Customer service and working with our visitors is a key part of this job.
This position requires working closely with a variety of animals including alpacas, llamas, goats, donkeys, horses, livestock guardian dogs, and more.
*Responsibilities*:
* Delegate tasks to team members effectively.
* Perform Day Manager duties, including but not limited to assigning tours, answering phones, answering emails, and helping in the farm store.
* Lead tours and interact with visitors in a friendly and informative manner.
* Provide basic care for various animals including feeding, stall cleaning, and basic first aid.
* Administer monthly preventative medications, including oral and injectable medicines.
* Maintain a clean driving record and safely operate UTVs and pickup trucks.
* Safely drive and deliver heavy loads of feed and bedding.
* Work in all weather conditions throughout the year.
* Lift and carry loads weighing up to 75 pounds.
*Qualifications:*
* Previous experience in livestock management is required.
* Ability to operate an RTV and flatbed truck.
* Strong organizational and time management skills.
* Comfortable working in all-weather conditions.
* Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
* Trailer driving experience is appreciated but not required.
